Situated on the road Brasov – Rucar – Campulung, Cetatea Rasnov (Rasnov Citadel) is one of the best conserved rural citadels in Transylvania. Cetatea Rasnov is named “Rural Citadel” because the main occupation of it's inhabitants was the agriculture. Peles Castle in Sinaia, summer residence for Romanian kings, has been built at the will of King Carol the I-st (1866 – 1914), following the blueprints of the Austrian architects Johannes Schultz and Karel Liman and was decorated be the well renowned J.D. Heymann from Hamburg, August Bembé from Mainz and Berhard Ludwig from Vienna. In only half an hours by car you can visit Peles National Museum in all it's splendor.
